The doctor will assess your face and skin condition.
Local anaesthesia is used to numb the target areas on the face and skin. The PDO threads are then carefully injected into the nose by using blunt cannulas.
The most common types of thread lift in Singapore is the Korean PDO threads and Silhouette threads, both FDA approved. Each thread type differs in the thread material used, tensile strength of the thread and design of the thread.
The most common threads used in thread lift procedures would be PDO or polydioxanone, used to lift sagging skin and combat visible ageing on the face.
Another material is the PCL or Polycaprolactone thread, largely used on the nose to lift the nose bridge.
You can do a thread lift on any parts of the face and some body areas like the abdomen and buttocks. In Singapore, thread lifts are commonly done on the face for younger looking skin and on the nose as a non-surgical way for a defined nose bridge, together with a slimmer nose tip.
Thread lifts are more invasive than face fillers, so the discomfort is slightly higher. However, thread lift results typically last about twice as long. Dermal fillers are more effective at contouring specific areas of the face; while a face thread lift lifts the whole face and rejuvenates sagging skin to create a more youthful appearance.
Thread lifts can also help give more nose height and a slightly sharper nose tip.
That said, both dermal fillers and face thread lifts can be done at the same time for optimum results.
