Female pattern baldness is a condition that affects women, otherwise known as androgenic alopecia. In general, this condition tends to affect men moreso than women and it manifests differently.
While men who suffer from androgenic alopecia tend to have bald spots and a receding hairline, women who suffer from this generally suffer from a general hair thinning, causing them to lose volume in the hair.
Female pattern baldness is mainly due to genetics and aging. Hormonal factors such as menopause can also play a factor. Environmental factors, such as stress and lifestyle, may also aggravate female pattern baldness.
