Picosecond lasers refer to the pulse duration of the laser, which is one-trillionth of a second. This patented technology in Singapore allows laser beams to penetrate deeper into the skin for effective treatment results like collagen production.
Each Pico Laser has differences in pulse duration, ranging between 450 picoseconds to 750 picoseconds. This shorter pulse duration is said to give the picosecond laser increased safety, higher efficiacy and reduced damage and discomfort as compared to traditional Q-switched lasers, which are nanosecond lasers (one billionth of a second).
With PicoSure laser, get ready to achieve results with your troubling skin issues.
The PicoSure Laser treatment takes tattoo removal to the next level as the high amount of energy used shatters tattoo ink into smaller particles, reducing potential thermal damage to the skin.
Acne scars can be challenging to deal with, but the PicoSure Laser works in two days in tackling acne. First, the laser penetrates skin to create areas of thermal damage. After which, the thermal damage combines with the picosecond technology to break up the scar.
Lastly, the PicoSure Laser stimulates collagen growth in skin, encouraging skin rejuvenation and creating a fresher, plumper look. It effectively treats other nagging skin problems such as wrinkles and fine lines.
This treatment is suitable for all skin types.
Compared to a Q-switched laser, the Pico laser runs a lot faster with a shorter pulse duration. A Pico laser also takes a shorter time to deliver results as compared to a Q-switched laser. This means lesser treatment sessions are required as well as a quicker recovery time. The Pico laser’s ultra-short pulse capability also enables it to break down skin problems such as pigmentation in much smaller fragments compared to a Q-switched laser.
Being non-invasive, Picosure also minimises skin damage significantly compared to traditional laser treatments. Unlike traditional lasers, the Pisosure laser is also suitable for all skin types.
In general, there are few side effects associated with the Picosure laser treatment as it is considered a safer choice than traditional lasers. The risk for PIH (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation) is also much lower.
You may notice mild temporary skin redness for 1-2 days post treatment, but this is because the Picosure laser is non-ablative and creates pockets of controlled damage in the skin without injury.
