WRINKLES

As we grow older, our skin loses its natural ability to produce collagen and elastin, two proteins that are essential for our skin to maintain a taut, healthy look. Our skin begins to lose its structure and becomes weaker, resulting in wrinkles. Wrinkles tend to develop around areas that are commonly exposed to sunlight. Examples of places that wrinkles commonly develop are one’s face and hands.

Q. WHAT ARE SOME DIFFERENT TYPES OF WRINKLES
AND HOW ARE THEY FORMED?

There are two main types of wrinkles:
  • Dynamic Wrinkles
These wrinkles are formed through muscular movements like smiling or frowning. They only appear when our muscles are tensed or when we are doing something that requires movement of facial muscles like speaking.
  • Static Wrinkles
Dynamic wrinkles sometimes become permanent and become visible even when we’re not speaking or moving our facial muscles. Depending on the type of wrinkles on your face, the recommended treatments will differ.
